ISLAMABAD – Umar Hayat, also known as Kaka, has confessed to the cold-blooded murder of popular TikToker Sana Yousaf, stating he killed her after she repeatedly refused to meet him despite his efforts to build a relationship.
In a detailed statement before a magistrate, Umar admitted that he first contacted Sana online and developed an obsession with her. He claimed she invited him to meet on one occasion, but after traveling and waiting the entire day, she asked him to leave without meeting in person. “I brought a birthday gift for her, but she didn’t accept it,” he told authorities.
Still fixated, Umar said Sana called him again on June 2, promising a meeting, but again did not show up. Enraged by what he called repeated rejection and humiliation, he traveled to her residence in Islamabad with a weapon. There, in a fit of rage, he shot her multiple times, killing her on the spot.
Following the murder, Umar fled to Faisalabad, where he went into hiding. Police launched a manhunt and arrested him days later, recovering the weapon used in the crime. Sources say the suspect showed no remorse during his initial questioning.
Sana Yousaf had gained a large following on TikTok and other social platforms, known for her bold videos and confident personality. Her shocking death has sparked nationwide conversations about online obsession, stalking, and the safety of women in digital spaces.
The police are continuing investigations, and a formal chargesheet is expected soon. Legal experts suggest the case could be treated as a premeditated murder motivated by obsession and personal rejection.
