PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has called the tragedy of Karbala a timeless symbol of patience, sacrifice, and resistance against injustice, urging unity in today’s divided world.
In his message on the occasion of Ashura, Gandapur stated that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) stood firm against tyranny and falsehood, setting an unparalleled example of courage and sacrifice for the honor of Islam.
He emphasized that Karbala teaches the values of truth, defiance against evil, and the need to support what is just—even at the cost of one’s life. These lessons, he said, remain deeply relevant in today’s times.
Gandapur noted that Imam Hussain (RA) and his family’s sacrifice was not only a stand against Yazidi oppression but also a beacon of strength for those fighting injustice globally. His principles can guide Muslims in reclaiming their dignity and unity.
He also urged scholars and citizens from all sects to foster religious harmony during Muharram. He stressed that peace, respect, and brotherhood among different sects are crucial for a stable and just society.
Concluding his message, the chief minister called on the nation to draw inspiration from Karbala to stand united against lawlessness, cruelty, and oppression in all forms.
